Feeling suitably refreshed enjoy a panoramic tour of Dublin city that will include a visit to The Constant Knitter, a favoured stop of many of our knitters through the years.

Meet a local craftsperson for a demonstration and informal chat about their craft topic which will either be knitwear design or Irish Lace crochet depending on designer availability. Following the visit, go to Ireland’s most popular attraction, Guinness Storehouse where there will be time for lunch (not included) during your tour. Check into your hotel mid-afternoon after which the remainder of then day will be free to explore Dublin or just relax before dinner.

Day 2: Tuesday 8th October 2019

Today your knitting retreat will take you to Kerry via the remarkable Cahir Castle. One of Ireland’s best-preserved Castles, Cahir sits on a rocky island above the river Suir. Once the home of the powerful Butler family, the castle’s keep, tower and defensive structures remain intact. Continue to the Lake Hotel and meet your host Carol Feller. You will spend a lot more time with Carol over the few days spent in Kerry, so this evening is an informal get together and ‘get to know each other’ session with some informal knitting thrown in for good measure!

Overnight at Lake Hotel – Lake View Rooms (B,D)

Day 3: Wednesday 9th October 2019

This morning enjoy your first session with Carol. Details of what you will be working on will be advised well before you arrive in Ireland so that you may prepare yourself. This afternoon after lunch (included), enjoy a Whiskey and Chocolate Tasting Event where experienced whiskey and chocolate connoisseurs will take you through the history of Whiskey in Ireland and how to pair it with the perfect chocolate flavour. You can enjoy samples of both or either!

After dinner, enjoy an Irish dance demonstration where there will be the opportunity to learn a few basic Irish dance steps yourself.

Overnight at Lake Hotel – Lake View Rooms (B,L,D)

Day 4: Thursday 10th October 2019

Today you will start your second session with Carol. After lunch (included) you can opt to stay in
Killarney and visit the National Park where you can visit Muckross House & Gardens, Muckross House
Traditional Farms or Killarney House & Gardens – or all three!! You might just want to wander around
the popular town with its many shops & restaurants or simply enjoy a session at the hotel’s treatment
room. Alternatively there will be an optional excursion to the Dingle Peninsula which although not as
well-known as the Iveragh Peninsula where the Ring of Kerry is located, it is every bit as beautiful. The
town of Dingle is a small fishing port where you will find plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to have
lunch. Then to the west of the town the scenery is particularly rugged with views out to the formerly
inhabited Blasket Islands. Visit the Blasket Center which celebrates the story of the Blasket Islanders, the
unique literary achievements of the island writers and their native language, culture and tradition. Don’t
forget to bring your knitting as Carol will accompany you on the tour.

Overnight at Lake Hotel – Lake View Rooms (B,L,D)

Day 5: Friday 11th October 2019

Again, today if you prefer to stay at the Lake Hotel you can do that or join us for a tour of the Sheep’s
Head Peninsula in Cork. Again, if you do decide to tour with us, bring your knitting! Today we travel to
Cork across the magnificent Healy Pass. The Healy Pass is known for some of Ireland’s best views. It was
built in 1847 during famine times to connect Cork and Kerry and to provide relief work for the poor.
There are a number of places to stop where you can get out and enjoy the view. After a short stop
continue to Sheep’s Head and meet Niamh and the other organisers of the annual Sheep’s Head Yarn
festival. Enjoy some knitting sessions with Niamh and the gang on the topic of travel sock knitting or
textured stitches depending on your preference. After the workshop and some lunch we will explore the
peninsula some more before returning to the hotel in time for dinner.

Overnight at Lake Hotel – Lake View Rooms (B,L,D)

Day 6: Saturday 12th October 2019

Today the knitting retreat ends and you say goodbye to Carol. Board your coach to travel to County
Clare crossing the Shannon Estuary by ferry. Once in Clare, enjoy the scenery as you travel to one of
Ireland’s natural wonders, the Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs rise to 214 meters (702 feet) at the visitor
centre where the views are magnificent and the Atlantic Edge Experience describes life above and below
the ocean around the cliffs. Following the visit, travel to one of the most complete castles in Ireland,
Bunratty Castle. Built in 1425 it was restored in 1954 to its former medieval splendour and now contains
mainly 15th and 16th century furnishings, tapestries, and works of art which capture the mood of those
times. Within the grounds of Bunratty Castle is Bunratty Folk Park where 19th century life is vividly
recreated. This evening enjoy a medieval banquet at the castle.

Overnight Radisson Blu Hotel (B, Limerick Dinner)

Day 7: Sunday 13th October 2019

This morning start your journey back to Dublin, stopping on the way at Newbridge Silverware and the
Museum of Style Icons. The Museum of Style Icons started 11 years ago when CEO of Newbridge
Silverware, William Doyle purchased a little black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1963 film,
Charade. Current exhibits include items once owned or worn by such stars as Michael Jackson, Marilyn
Munroe, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor to name but a few. Continue to Dublin and after checking in to
