Guest Blogger, Dale Cox - Canada 150 Project

Smaller Knitblanket05Hello everybody,

We hope you've had a chance to see the Pharmacy window downtown Georgetown to preview a few of the finished blankets and a display of beautiful red and white panels. If you haven't, you still have time. The Pharmacy has asked us if we want to keep the display there for a few more weeks into July. What wonderful news! People love looking at all the work you've put into this Canada 150 project.

As a bonus, Dave and I will be set up in front of the Pharmacy this Saturday morning for the Farmers Market for anyone who is interested to see Dave winding cakes of yarn or me knitting some panels. What fun! If you're in the area, please drop by to say "Hi".

Attached are 2 photos of 2 more completed blankets. (#5 and #6). There are 8 in total completed to date, 1153 panels finished, and a list of 138 knitters and crocheters participating.

Thank you to everyone who is adding to this fun adventure.

Watch for our second display in the library showcase at the bottom of the stairs near the back of the library, beginning June 17 for 2 weeks.smaller image knitblanket06

Sugar Bush Yarns Birthday Party

Untitled image 193

On June 13, Sugar Bush Yarns will be 1 year old and like you would for any one year old, Georgetown Yarn is holding a week long party from June 12 - 17.

June is also my daughter's birth month and this year she turned 15 so all week long, Sugar Bush Yarns will be 15% off.  Happy Birthday Sabrina and Sugar Bush.

To celebrate Sugar Bush, we are having games and prizes and free gifts.  The first 21 people who come in and purchase Sugar Bush Yarns will receive a free pattern book.

Everyone who purchases Sugar Bush Yarn during the week long party will have their name entered into a draw to win one of two grand prizes.

"Guess the yarn fibre" and be entered to win a free skein from Sugar Bush Yarns new Autumn lineup.

On Saturday, June 17 join us for cake and the drawing of the prize winners at 3:00 p.m.

Keep your sticks clicking,
